This is probably close to if not the funniest movie I have ever seen.  This one is a sleeper, i.e. not particularly well reviewed and not advertised by the big time Hollywood ad machine.  I literarily could not stop laughing.  It has some of the funniest scenes, the best one-liners and over-the-top acting.  Yes, it is silly, but oh so real. I know from my own family gatherings.

    The main character Tuola, is played by Nia Vardalos who also wrote the screen play from the stage version.  Rita Wilson (Tom Hanks' wife) saw her act in the stage version and convinced Hanks to produce it. Thanks Rita!  I'm not going to say any more about it, but if you don't see it, you will have missed an experience.

    I'm not alone in my opinion of this film.  It had been at our local art theater for more than a month and the theater was full again the night my wife and I went.
