I would classify this as kind-of-a ho-hum
Hollywood love triangle story line - a conflict between two
guys and one girl - it is a bit of a twist that one of them
dies ... for a while. The computer-generated
action scenes integrated with the real action scenes and
the WWII planes and the attack - were all terrific film
technicals. You could tell what was generated
if you looked hard, but you didn't notice if you
squinted.Â
The Japanese leader will impress you as a
thoughtful, caring military guy who knew the consequences
of his actions and didn't particularly like those
consequences, but a job was a job. I think this
was cut into the plot to appease current relations with
Japan. I don't think they were that nice in
1941-45. But, it's only a movie.Â
There is some pretty valid history dramatized here for
those younger folks that don't remember any of our second
worldwide conflict.
