I met Dave at the Festival of Books a few years ago and he told me about his great book. He kept getting chased in nightmares and his family encouraged him to write down what he experienced. This is something many of us writers have wanted to do, but didn't get around to it. At least I know I haven't. Or maybe we base stories on our dreams, but Dave goes a step further, he takes you into his head and allows you to see the same things he is seing like you are there with him. It's like you've entered another demention. And Dave makes the stories very real. When each story ends, you feel like you were someplace else and now you are waking up in a sweat! The only problems I had with this book, and I say had, were that it's told in present tense. It's trippy, but it also makes you feel more like you are participating in someone's dream, so it works for Dave. Don't try this at home, unless you are... Dave. This is only for experienced professionals like Dave who decide to break the rules.
