Franchon Lyons Reviews:

It Could Have Been Worse
by A. H. Benjamin

A.H. Benjamin writes a delightful story about a mouse who encounters a series of timely accidents on his way home. What the mouse doesn't realize is his terrible day could have been much worse had be met up with, the cat, the bird, the snake, the fish, or the fox. Tim Warnes' illustrations captured the mouse's escapades as he stumbles through the vibrant green grass and as he falls into a deep dark hole. The beautiful blue stream with its rocky ride brings this story to life.

Children will like the cute little mouse that seems to be having a hard time getting home. Adults will like the mouse's ‘don't give up' attitude. I enjoyed the book because it reminds me that just as we think things are going wrong it could always be much worse.
