Franchon Lyons Reviews:
When I read Nagan's Iliad I was thrilled and ready to read more. I was so excited that I convinced my 7th grader to read the one of the Instant Classics. He enjoyed every word. This book will provide the reader with countless laughs and an English 101 review. I love how Nagan describes the bodies of the Trojan warriors after their defeat: “…and beat the Trojans back, and chopped them into little pieces, little bitty pieces, that made nasty squishy noises when you steed on them, so you tried not to step on them, only you couldn't help it, they were everywhere, little julienned strips of Trojans, an eyeball here, a kneecap there, clumps of hair and gristle, floppy flaps of flesh, and splintered bone, and pools of blood”. The other classics are true to form and just as funny. I would recommend this book to any school age student or adult to read. |
