“A Song from an Empty Forest” is an incredible novel. Written by Kathleen Ann Anderson it pulls you in from the first with an opening scene so poignant, so riveting that I promise you, you will never forget it.

Ms. Anderson is an inventive and imaginative writer. With a few deft brushes of the pen the narrative grabs you by the heart and doesn’t let go. Emily is a young girl orphaned at birth, living on a farm with her mother’s survivors, her uncles and grandfather, men who neither forgive her or themselves for her young mother’s death. Frightened and frustrated by the anger, and drunkenness of the men on the farm, Emily escapes to make a better life for herself. What follows is a marvelous story of hope, innocence found and the redemption that only true love can bring. A great read!
