Carol Wood Reviews:
The
Sleepy Little Star
By Kimberli Brady
This is a very interesting Children's book. For those of you who have
wished on a star or wondered about why it was twinkling, apparently, now
you can speak to him personally, Sleepy, is his name. Somehow that seems
endearing and a little presumptuous, but I guess we think that of every
woman who is ahead of her time.
Kimberli Brady is such a thinking woman. She knows that
some mom's want to quickly read the story
and get their kids to bed, and other mom's or other
times they may want to share in the experience and make
it last as long as possible. Kimberli wrote her book for both moms (and
Dads too!).
If you only read the blue text throughout the book, you read
a short story about a little star, in rhyme.
(See how it works?) Or you can get all the details and the conversations
between Sleepy and Papa Moon by reading the entire text.
Now, where this book falls short is, there's a little redundancy when
Kimberli tells us, Sleepy or Papa Moon "continued." But, maybe
I'm the short attention span kid, and I should read the rhyming section.
Anyway, it's a good read - definitely fun and interactive with kids and
has delightful images. A great idea in book reading, I hadn't seen before,
and I hope to see it continued. To find out more, visit Kimberli's website.
