Getting Old Is Murder

You know, now that I am getting old, I can really laugh at the characters in this story who sound very much like my friends and I going out to lunch or shopping. This story would be funny to anyone who has overheard older women complaining. The author captured that personality completely. Each character in this novel is memorable though and when several of them are killed off, I felt it. I sat there in my comfortable chair saying outloud,"No, not Francie! She's nice! Don't! Don't eat it! Ohhh..."

I really hated how she killed off the old ladies. But it did add that special element of suspense because really, no one was suspecting they were murdered. I mean, they were OLD. The killer was getting away with it!

And it's so satisfying that an OLDER woman has to become a detective to solve the crimes. Because you see, I'm older and I'd like to think that I was smart enough to be the hero too. Ahhhhh, so satisfying a read. Definetely recommend this writer to anyone of my friends or your friends or well, send out emails! This is a goody!

Carol Wood is now going to go sit and have a cup of coffee and possibly a Nature Valley granola bar and read Rita's next book, Getting Old is the Best Revenge!
